Foundation for Free Enterprise Education
- We offer two our-of-school time student experiences that foster career readiness and workforce development. The first is our summer camp, a 6-day residential program in Williamsport PA, held on the campuses of Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology called Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW). High school sophomores and juniors are invited to apply and attend PFEW and learn to understand and celebrate business and the American private enterprise system. Students manage a fictitious manufacturing company and discover the inner workings of modern business. Every graduate receives a life-changing opportunity for hands-on career exploration as well as a $20,000 scholarship to Lycoming College and a $4,000 scholarship to Penn Tech. The second is the Speaker Series is an online library of videos geared toward career exploration, motivation, and skills development. These 30-minute videos offer a virtual job shadow and can be used on-demand, inside and outside of the classroom. Our library currently has over 90 various careers to explore.
- The Foundation for Free Enterprise Education (FFEE) was established in 1979 with a mission to teach students about business and the American free enterprise system and help them develop the job-ready skills that employers needed. In 1980, FEEE was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) educational foundation. To fulfill this mission, FFEE operates three youth economic education programs, Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW), The Stock Market Game (SMG) and the Speaker Series.
