Building Blocks Learning Center

Student School

  • As a organization we offer positions ranging from support teachers, facilities personnel, lead classroom teachers, management roles, program coordinators, company-wide administrators, and more.
  • At Building Blocks Learning Center, we focus our educational and child care programs on developing the whole child – academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. Our learning and childcare programs create an environment of positive thinking through positive reinforcement, individual development, guidance, and a love for learning. Our program encompasses the flexibility needed to build on the individual interests of our students. We believe learning is natural; best occurring in a rich, self-directed environment.

  • The Bridge the Gap Program actively supports passionate future educators at all levels as they transition from students to citizens. The program supports student interns, and mentor teachers, as they work together to provide the best quality care to our students. The program is aimed at supporting educators beginning their journeys as well as those striving for greatness along the way in their practice. Our program improves the workforce by giving hands-on, relevant, and supported experiences to all involved. The Building Blocks Learning Center's workforce initiative, Bridge the Gap, has created several community pathways to achieve student success. High school students can receive class credit for their time spent under the supervision of our skilled master mentor teachers. These students can also be given the opportunity to receive credit and be paid within our co-op program. For those interns that desire to further their education, Building Blocks Learning Center facilities grant opportunities through the PA TEACH program to assist students in paying for their tuition. In addition to the many high school level opportunities, students that enter higher education at a cooperating school, can work with us to get field credit hours, observation time, or even final student teaching within a well-supported environment. Bridge the Gap is expanding their opportunities by opening up a lab school on the Wilkes University campus where interns can collaborate with mentors to try lessons, lead activities, gain knowledge, and learn from hands-on experiences. The Bridge the Gap Program is a successful community initiative because it elevates and supports all stakeholders involved.
